(The Walking The Talk series was created to show an ebook launch from idea to salesletter to marketing.)
I temporarily changed the Wordpress template for the No More Smelly House blog because I needed a diversion until the new header is done.
Again, I’m not in love. But I’ve been really sick this weekend, and I didn’t have the energy to be Patty Perfect.
As soon as the new header is done - or I start feeling better - I’m going full blast with writing new reviews.
In any case, I welcome these problems. I think it gives a most accurate picture of what REALLY goes on behind the scenes when you’re doing a project like this.
You can’t predict your shortcomings. You just have to deal with them as they arise.
In any case, here’s the first rough draft of the actual report.
I didn’t write in any particular order. So the ideas will seem to jump around a bit.
After starting the writing process I’ve had some new brainstorms on the ways I can better offer this information.
For example, I came up with a recipe idea that I think readers will have an easier time following.
- Neutralize existing odors
- Control new odors
- Create a pleasing house smell
Although it’s a little tricky now because my existing Table of Contents wasn’t written to follow this recipe. So this week I’ll do a little re-organizing in that department.
Speaking of the word ‘recipe,’ I think I’m going to incorporate it into the sub-title for the report.
Because in actuality, you sometimes need different remedies depending on your housing situation, and the level of stink you’re dealing with. So ‘recipes’ is a very accurate term.
BTW, if you have a stinky house remedy, please don’t hesitate to e-mail. Donations of intellectual property are always welcome.

Ah, intellectual property — the gift that keeps on giving….and giving…
you oughta be in bed, getting your rest….
Oh! If you find recipes for getting rid of mold smells, I’ll totally be in love with this book more than I already am.
I hate mold so much.

Hi Isabella,
Mold is definitely on the list. But mold is a tricky little animal depending on where it is, and whether you live in an apartment or house. I’ll start working on that section for you this week.
Don’t worry… I’m in bed. Swallowing like 20 times a minute. My throat is so scratchy and dry. Can’t complain though. My daughter brings home a new illness a week from school, and I haven’t been really, really sick, until now.

House renovation, lifestyle “cleansing” and the like are all very much part of the British culture at the moment. Daytime and primetime television are packed with such lifestyle shows. I know that there is a very popular show called “How Clean Is Your House”, hosted by two hygiene nazis called Kim and Aggie. All such shows have accompanying books…
Have you considered purchasing such books on Amazon/eBay, taking out the relevant stuff, and recycling and laundering the information as your own? Could cut the research in half for the cost of around $40 or so.

Hi Jack… I’ve actually seen Kim and Aggie’s books in the bookstore. I’ve gone through a couple of titles to see if I’m missing anything. And I did get a few organic/natural living ideas from one book (not theirs).
But surprisingly, most of my original ideas came from my Grandma, and my best friend who introduced me to the obsessive-compulsive world of smell control. My best friend smokes a pack a day, and there’s never a smoke smell in her house. She’s like the David Copperfield of getting rid of smoke smells.
So it didn’t cost me anything at all, except for some time.
But nonetheless a great idea for other ebook writers who are stumped on which direction to take, or how to compile ideas.
Thanks Jack! Your feedback is always welcome.

Maaaan! I liked the old header. Nobody does simple anymore.
Nice wedding ring though. Got an announcement to make, Alexis?
