Bullet Point

There’s a part in the movie Snakes on a Plane when the plane is landed by a guy who learned to fly by playing video games, and star Samuel L. Jackson says, “All praises to the Playstation!”

I don’t praise the Playstation. But I have a similar admiration for…
Dragon NaturallySpeaking - Version 9

I’d been contemplating purchasing Dragon for several years. But I was never fully impressed with previous years reviews to go through the hassle.

Version 9 is apparently a horse of a different color.

If you’re the type of person who gets put off by the task of writing in general, your opinion will sway overnight.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking is a transcription software. You load it onto your computer, speak into a microphone, and watch it print the words on your screen.

There is a training segment you have to complete when you initially install it, which may take an hour or more. You’re basically teaching it to recognize the way you say certain words.

You’ll also have to learn specific commands for capitalization, deleting characters/words, etc.

But once you’ve gotten over that installation hump, you’ll look at typing as an archaic act.

I can’t tell you how relaxed my arms feel because I’m not typing as much anymore. And I can speak a longer paragraph much faster than I can type a shorter paragraph.

I am officially a Dragon NaturallySpeaking addict.
