Max... I read the reviews on Dragon V.10, and they don't look good if you're running Vista - which I am. So I'm going to wait it out a bit.

I was just think about visiting you last week. I must've thought you up! We'll have to talk. Layla's going back to school next week.

Mike... I do have some of my groceries delivered. The staple items like cereals, paper towels, etc. But I don't leave the "grocery-powers-that-be" to choose my meats, fish, fruits and vegetables. I'm like a chef - I prefer to do that myself.

And I also have a cleaning person who comes in during the week. But I was raised by a Grandmother who cleaned houses for a living. So I am borderline obsessive/compulsive about ALWAYS keeping a clean house. There are certain things I do every day regardless - like clean the bathroom and vacuum the hardwood floors.

So yeah... I do DO those things. But I like doing certain things for myself. Such is the advantage of working at home. For instance, I'd NEVER get a nanny for my kid - (though I DON'T knock anyone who does). I just enjoy being a hands-on parent. I can't imagine missing certain parts of her life just so I could sit behind a friggin' keyboard. I still have at least 40+ years to unfurl the thoughts that are going on in my brain. And even if I don't - my goal is to always be able to do what I want to do.

These are the things that make me happy.

Alexis congrats on doing well with information marketing.

You mention the following:
In between cooking, cleaning, going to the zoo, school shopping, grocery shopping, and taking my 83-year old neighbor out to dinner, my days are FULL.

At your rate of $45 for 600 words you were saying, doesn't it make sense to get others to clean, have groceries delivered, etc?

Diigo looks awesome, I can't wait to try it. I have a bad - badddd habit of saving paragraphs into an outlook express email and then saving it to the drafts. Which is totally unorganized.

My laptop before it died had over 700 drafts. ugghh

Hi Alexis,

I'm new to the IM business but have been designing and developing websites since 1997. I know you like to write all your own content, but for someone like me who doesn't have a lot of experience writing, and I'm certainly not a fast writer (read dead slow), would it not be better use of my time to focus on the research and outsource my writing?

Also, have you had any experience/success with using dictation software like Dragon Naturally Speaking to increase your writing speed?

P.S. I love your blog. You are a truly inspiring!

Kind regards,
David Crowther

Thanks Mike... Thank Jean. :-)

I'm having to move Rack and Write to its own dedicated server this week, as it had a TON of traffic today. (Perhaps some of you noticed that it was down earlier.)

I'm not complaining - the fact that it needs extra bandwidth is a good thing. I want it to be used.

Alexis,

As a man and a human being, I am sick and tired of these knuckleheads who continue to harm women. A woman was stabbed to death, in NYC, apparently by her ex-boyfriend, last night. Her neighbors ignored her pleas for thirty minutes while she was attacked. The police found her in a pool of blood.

There is nothing "pansy" about changing your environment after such a traumatic event. God bless you for having the fortitude and courage to let that punk know you weren't going for the okey-doke! Great to have you back.;-)
